Obrum member of Polish Defence Holding presented its Anders platform at MSPO 2013. Fitted with Obrum Sensor Unit and Obrum Amur (Autonomous Rocket Weapon) System this platform can engage air and ground vehicles.

The Anders is a modular tracked platform (light tank, IFV) which is presented in its IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) form, capable of carrying 11 people (3 as crew) at MSPO 2013. Featuring a turret with only Spike missiles and the full version of the Amur System, the Anders show itself as a support vehicle. Powered by a MTU engine (diesel) and uses torsion bar suspensions.

Polish Defence Holding present new tank at MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition.
The new tank unveiled at MSPO 2013 by Polish Defence Holding and BAE Systems is created at the OBRUM, Research and Development centre of mechanical devicesin Gliwice. The goal of this joint venture between BAE and PDH is to create a new platform. This concept of light tank/Infantry Fighting Vehicle is here to help formalise the Polish requirements for their future tender and is named PL-01 for the moment.

For the moment the vehicle is presented in tank version and features either an unmanned turret sporting a 120mm or 105mm gun mounted on a chassis, drawing heavily on CV90 mobility and protection technology provided by BAE’s Hagglunds operation in Sweden. The maximum weight of the tank is 35 tons (with full armor and anti-mine floor protection. The diesel engine will be fueled by F-54 diesel.

The off-road speed is expected to be 50km/h while on road 70km/h is easily achievable. The rate of fire for either caliber is 6 rounds/min with 16 rounds ready to fire and up to 29 rounds in the chassis.

This common tracked platform is to compete in the future tender for hundreds of IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) and light tanks with a requirement for the first delivery sometime in 2018. Formal specifications for the vehicle tender are unknown, at least until the end of this year, when the tender will be published, but this concept provided by PDH might help its government in its final decision about the type.

Turkey the honored country for edition 2013 of International Defense Industry Exhibition MSPO.
Over 400 exhibitors from as many as 30 countries have already confirmed their presence at this year’s military show. For eight years MSPO has been accompanied with national defence industry exhibitions. Turkey is this year’s star of the show. Germany, France, Israel, the United States, Sweden, the V4 Group Countries as well as Great Britain have already had their presentations.

Italy had their military industry display at the last year’s jubilee edition of MSPO. The wealth and diversity of Italian offer put on display at the 20th MSPO was the one of the results of the defence cooperation memorandum which had been signed by Poland’s and Italian’s Ministers of Defence.

Turkish exhibition offer promises to be equally rich and abundant. The opening ceremony of the 21st International Defence Exhibition MSPO will be added extra splendour owing the performance of Turkey’s oldest military band – the Mehteran. The Turkish ensemble, in conjunction with Polish Armed Forces Representative Band will be playing the national anthems of Poland and Turkey as well as the Turkish March. The Mehteran is also the oldest Europe’s military orchestra; the ensemble’s presence at the MSPO marks the 90th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Turkey as well as the 2014’s 600th jubilee of diplomatic relations development between our country and the Ottoman Empire.

According to the MSPO organisers, it has already become the tradition of the military show that a special attention is paid to the presentation of Poland’s Military Forces’ cutting-edge equipment and gear used in international peace-keeping missions. The dynamic presentation will also give the sample of Polish soldiers’ day-to-day duties at foreign missions. At the last year’s expo, the soldiers of the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanised Brigade and the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade demonstrated the mechanised platoon operation in an ambush. The demonstration was staged by the soldiers and commanders who had gathered extensive experience during the Afghanistan missions. In the presentation scenario, the enemy attacked the soldiers with the use of an Improvised Explosive Device, mortars and riffles. The soldiers presented the mandatory procedures which encompassed platoon’s cooperation with the attack helicopters and evacuation of the injured from the assault scene.
