With over 120 one man turrets delivered and in service and more than 15 years of design experience in weapon systems, FNSS has unveiled the next generation member of the one man turret family, the SABER.
Development of the SABER turret started in 2013 and is privately funded.
SABER is a medium caliber one man power operated turret that can be deployed on a wide range wheeled and tracked armored vehicles. SABER turret incorporates the latest technologies in turret drives, fire control, protection and lethality. The compact dimensions and light weight makes SABER a suitable choice for different types of armored vehicles.
SABER turret offers more than 60% larger internal volume than FNSS’s previous generation one man turret with less than 10% increase in outer envelope dimensions.
The main armament consists of an ATK 25mm M242 Enhanced Bushmaster 25mm dual-feed automatic cannon which is provided with 240 rounds (150+90) of ready-use ammunition.
A 7.62mm M240 machine gun is mounted coaxially with the M242 cannon on the left hand side of the turret and is provided with 600 ready use ammunition.
A bank of three 76mm grenade launchers is mounted on both sides of the turret towards the rear. These could also be replaced by grenade launchers of other calibers.
The digital fire control and sighting system includes a 3rd Generation long wave or mid wave thermal imager, a telescopic day optical channel, unity window for surveillance, an eye safe laser range finder with 8.000m range and ballistic computation capability.
The gunner is also provided with two up-look periscopes for all around vision.
The gun turret drive system is electrical and fully digital with two axis stabilization capability to ensure a high accuracy of fire on the move. The traverse and elevation drives have manual backup capability. Turret traverse is all-electric through 360 degrees, with weapon elevation from -8 to +48 degrees.
Turret shell is made of all-welded aluminum armor with add-on composite and steel armor providing ballistic protection to STANAG 4569 Level IV standard.
FNSS will display this weapon system in IDEX 2015 at FNSS Stand 10-A05.
FNSS’ NEW 6X6 PARS CBRN RECONNAISSANCE VEHICLE

The various tracked and wheeled platforms, produced by FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş. (FNSS Defense Systems Inc.), are manufactured entirely by using local engineering design and manpower in accordance with domestic and foreign user requirements. FNSS have the design and integration capability to offer solutions incorporating a wide range of different sub systems.
The CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle, produced as a prototype by FNSS, was developed using the PARS 6×6 platform. The CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle has the capability to detect and identify Chemical Warfare Agents (CWA) and Toxic Industrial Materials (TIM), including a Stand Off Detection capability, radiation detection, and the detection and identification of Biological Agents.
The CBRN collective protection system fitted to the PARS 6×6 provides a vehicle over pressure and also an assisted breathing face mask system. The collective protection system is designed in accordance with the NATO standard AEP – 54.
The vehicle is also fitted with a remote control stabilized weapon system on which a 40mm automatic grenade launcher, 12.7mm or 7.62mm machine gun can be fitted in accordance with user requirements.
The vehicle has been designed for a CBRN Reconnaissance team of 4 personnel comprising driver, team / vehicle commander and two CBRN operators. An additional crew seat has been included within the PARS 6×6 to further improve operational capability and crew flexibility, particularly when taking and handling Chemical and Biological samples for further analysis. The FNSS CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle can also can be designed using the PARS 8X8 configuration which is capable of incorporating a larger CBRN team and more equipment if required.
Chemical Detection and Identification: The PARS 6×6 is fitted with 3x chemical detection units to monitor continuously for the presence of Chemical Warfare Agents and Toxic Industrial Materials both outside and inside the vehicle. There is also integrated an additional device which is used for further identification of solid or liquid samples within the vehicle glove box. This unit can also be removed from the vehicle for dismounted operations if required.
The vehicle is fitted with a Stand Off Detection capability, the device fitted uses laser technology and can detect up to a distance of 5km.
A gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer (GC/MS) device for further detailed chemical analysis of a range of samples is also integrated into the PARS 6×6. This unit is also available for dismounted operations if required.
Biological Detection and Identification: The PARS 6×6 CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle is capable of continuous Biological Agent Detection. If a potential biological agent is detected, a secondary sample is taken for further analysis and the sample capture and analysis is carried out within the fully integrated glove box designed to provide operator safety. Due to the integrated design of the glove box, a variety of ground samples can also enter the glove box via the sample handling device for further analysis and identification.
Radiological and Nuclear Detection: Gamma radiation detectors are fitted to the outside of the vehicle in order to alert the crew to the direction and level of any radiation hazard. The PARS 6×6 is also fitted with an internal radiation detection device and individual crew dosimeters for personnel protection and dose rate monitoring.
Manual Sampling and Contaminated Area Marking: The PARS 6×6 incorporates the Double Wheel Sampling System which provides a continuous detection capability whilst on the move and for further sample analysis. Ground samples can be obtained by the operator safely from within the vehicle and can be stored outside the vehicle prior to onward transportation and further laboratory analysis.
The integrated area marking system of the PARS 6×6 CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle allows the operator to mark any contaminated area identified without having to leave the vehicle. The NATO standard ground marking flags are placed from within the vehicle using the interlocking delivery system which maintains vehicle over pressure and crew safety at all times.
The Central Processing Unit and CBRN Software: The CBRN detection devices integrated into the PARS 6×6 are linked to the Warning and Reporting CBRN software in order to provide the crew with timely alarms and information of any potential CBRN threat. The CBRN information gathered, when incorporated with the data received from the integrated meteorological device and GPS, can be transmitted using the on board communication system, in accordance with ATP 45 format.
FNSS will display this vehicle variant in IDEX 2015 at FNSS Stand 10-A05.

İdex 2015 te Çin yeni LPD gemisini sergiledi.
The China Shipbuilding and Trading Company (CSTC) used the IDEX show in Abu Dhabi to reveal a model of a new landing platform dock (LPD) that it could build for export.
A CSTC official told IHS Jane's that the concept was not developed to meet any current customer requirement, but was done to "show we have these capabilities".
The CSTC official could not confirm reports that China had offered a version of its Type 071 LPD in 2006 to meet a Malaysian requirement, but did not discount them.
CSTC's export LPD concept appears to be slightly smaller than the Type 071, the fourth of which was launched for the Chinese navy on 22 January. The model's vehicle and well deck contained 18 main battle tanks and 16 smaller utility vehicles.
Its hangar appears to hold two helicopters the size of the Changhe Z-8. Defensive armament included a 76 mm gun on the foredeck and two automatic cannon.

Raytheon's Talon guidance kit for 70 mm rockets appears to have been given a new lease of life through a collaboration with the Emirati company that produces the Nimr range of armoured vehicles.
Raytheon announced at the IDEX show in Abu Dhabi that it was working with Nimr Automotive, which is part of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), to integrate the Talon with its vehicle.
"In partnership with EDIC, we are providing an affordable, near-term, and reliable solution," said Michelle Lohmeier, vice-president of Raytheon Land Warfare Systems.
A 6x6 Nimr was displayed at the show with a launcher for 16 Talon missiles and two anti-tank guided missiles, as well as electro-optical sensors mounted on a retractable mast, which would allow the weapons to be fired from a concealed position.
Nimr CEO Dr Fahad Saif Harhara provided an overview of the tactical situations where a Talon launcher on a light armoured vehicle might be useful, saying it could be used for armed reconnaissance, infrastructure defence, defensive fire suppression, and border security.
"It can also support rapidly advancing infantry," he added. "The mobile and fixed firing modes enhance the vehicle's effectiveness and provide a significant advantage over existing heavy artillery."
